About KiteConvert
Updated October 23, 2026
KiteConvert is a set of free file converters that run entirely in your browser: iPhone photos (HEIC) to JPG, web images, compression to an exact size, images to PDF and back, audio from video, audio formats and GIFs. No upload, no account, no queue and no daily limit, in thirteen languages.
How it works
Modern browsers can decode and encode images, audio and video themselves. Where they can’t, we load well-known open-source libraries compiled to WebAssembly: MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif, LAME for MP3, pdf.js, libheif and Mediabunny among them (all listed on the credits page). The work happens on your device, so a fast phone or laptop converts quickly and nothing needs to be sent to a server.
How we check accuracy
Every converter is tested against reference samples whose correct result is known from the format specifications: byte signatures, page sizes, pixel dimensions, durations, sample counts. The numbers quoted on converter pages (size changes, times) are our own measurements on our test files, and each page says what those files were.
How we make money
KiteConvert is free. In the future it may show a small number of ads, placed away from the converter and never between your files. There are no paid placements.
Who runs it
KiteConvert is run by the operator of kiteconvert.com, an independent sole trader based in Poland. Questions and corrections: contact@kiteconvert.com.
