Your files never leave your device

KiteConvert converts files inside your web browser. When you choose or drop a file, the page reads it from your device, converts it with code that runs on your device, and hands the result back to you as a download. Our code has no upload feature: there is no server that receives files, file names, sizes or contents.

You can check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools on the Network tab while converting, or load the converter, switch your device to airplane mode and keep converting.

Some converters download a decoder or encoder the first time you use them (for example the HEIC engine). These are program files sent from this website to you; nothing travels the other way.

What is stored in your browser

Your converter settings (for example JPG quality or MP3 bitrate), the theme you picked and the last few converters you used are kept in your browser’s local storage on that device, so the page remembers them next time. Nothing about your files is stored, ever. Clearing your browser data removes these settings.

One more entry records your privacy choice (see below), so you are not asked again on every page.

Analytics

We count visits with Google Analytics 4, using Google Consent Mode. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it stores nothing on your device until you agree. Elsewhere it runs by default and you can switch it off at any time through “Privacy settings” in the footer.

Analytics sees which page was opened, from which country and on which kind of device. It never receives anything about the files you convert: we do not send file names, sizes or formats to any analytics service, and download tracking is switched off. Google processes this data as our processor; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

Advertising

There is no advertising on KiteConvert at the moment. When we add it, ads will be served by Google AdSense; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland consent will be collected through Google’s certified consent tool, and this page will be updated before any advertising starts. Ads load like on any website and, like everything else on the page, they never receive your files.

Hosting and fonts

The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes the technical data any web request contains (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Fonts and converter engines are served from this site, not from third-party CDNs.

Children

KiteConvert is a general-audience site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Because KiteConvert holds no personal data about you beyond what is described above, most requests can be met by clearing your browser data or changing your privacy settings.
